Points to remember before applying for NEET

About NEET
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, popularly known as NEET UG, will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET 2019 will be conducted once a year and will held on May 5. The exam will be held in offline mode which means NEET is a pen and paper test.

Exam level: National Level Exam
Frequency: Once a year
Languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Hindi, English, Marathi, Urdu, Kannada, Telugu, Odia.
Conducting Body: National Testing Agency
Duration: 3 Hours

Exam pattern
Candidates will be provided with an OMR sheet where they will be required to submit responses.
NEET UG paper will be of three-hour duration which will contain three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
The total number of questions in the NEET 2019 Exam will be 180 (all the questions will be MCQs) for a total of 720 marks. Candidates are awarded four marks for each correct response while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. The Biology section of NEET question paper carries more marks as the section alone consists of 90 questions while the other two sections contain 45 questions each. There will be no deduction of marks for not attempting a question.
The paper will be available in 11 languages (English, Hindi, Urdu and Other 8 regional languages) and availability of the question paper in a particular regional language will depend on the location of the exam centre of NEET 2019.

Eligibility criteria for NEET
The following points are NEET eligibility criteria:
• Nationality:- Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and Foreign Nationals are eligible to take NEET 2019.
• Age Limit:- As per the minimum age limit of NEET, a candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2019. The maximum age limit to appear for NEET is 25 years (unreserved category candidates) and 30 years (reserved and PwD category candidates).
• Educational Qualification:- Candidate must pass Class 12 or equivalent examination by scoring qualifying marks in English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry individually and an aggregate of minimum 50% in Chemistry, Biology and Physics for unreserved category candidates, 45% for general PWD candidates and OBC candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
• Number of Attempts:- The attempt limit to take NEET UG has been removed.

Filling up the form
The application process will involve steps:
1. Submission of personal and educational details which can be checked below:-
a. Registration
b. Filling up academic details
c. Providing permanent and correspondence address
2. Uploading Photograph and Signature
3. Make Payment
4. Take a printout of the confirmation page

According to Supreme Court order, adhaar card is now not necessary for NEET.

Important dates for NEET 2019
Availability of application form: 1st November 2018
Closing of Registration: 30th November 2018
Last date to make payment: 1st December 2018
Availability of admit card: 15th April 2019
Date of examination: 5th May 2019
Declaration of results: 5th June
Counselling starts: 25th June onwards.

After NEET
After qualifying NEET 2019, candidates will be required to appear for the national and state level counselling processes.
The admission to MBBS and BDS courses are taken on the basis of merit (NEET 2019 score) and preferences (choices submitted in the counselling) basis.
The national counselling will be conducted by MCC for AFMC, All India Quota seats, Deemed University seats (including MGIMS, BHU, AMU and other private deemed universities) and ESI quota seats.
Each state will conduct its own counselling for its state quota seats for their domicile candidates.

Score more in NEET/AIIMS/JIPMER- Know how to improve your organic chemistry.

Organic Chemistry plays a major role in your selection, as this is 40% part of chemistry questions asked in NEET/AIIMS/JIPMER.
In NEET: 17 out of 45 questions comes from organic chemistry.
In AIIMS: 24 out of 60 questions comes from organic chemistry.
In JIPMER: 22 out of 60 questions comes from organic chemistry.

•How to improve organic chemistry?

First of all, believe in yourself, do not make yourself feel low. If you do this, then surely you will feel a great change in yourself.
Start reading class 11th NCERT Chemistry’s Chapter- General Organic Chemistry- line by line along with your class notes. If you are unable to understand any line, clear your doubts immediately from your teachers.
In that chapter lay special emphasis on reaction mechanisms, nucleophile, electrophiles, inductive effect, isomerism and resonance effect.
After that take chapter hydrocarbon from your coaching notes and NCERT, and try to understand (not just cramming) the substitution, elimination and addition reactions as these are the basic principle reactions of organic chemistry. If you understand them, you will not feel difficulty in learning organic reactions and their mechanisms given in Class 12th Chemistry books.
After that, for Class 12th chemistry reactions make a chart and have a look on it before going to bed daily. This will help you memorise those reactions effectively.
But remember, never hesitate in asking doubts, if you compromise with that, you will always do mistakes in conceptual questions (which are asked mostly in NEET). So clear your each and every doubt…
Second thing..
Whenever you finish a topic, revise it regularly, because our brain has limited storage capacity, so revising regularly will help you to keep your concepts in your brain for a long time and will also keep your confidence level up.
One important tip: Do not ignore last three chapters of class 12th chemistry book as these chapters are very important. Every year there are 17 out of 45 questions from organic chemistry and these three chapters contribute 3- 4 questions every year.. You will also not feel difficulty with these chapters as you have read them in Biology and in your day to day life.
If you follow above instructions, you will definitely score good in organic chemistry.

Confirmed: NEET 2019 is going to be conducted only once again in offline mode as before.

A bad news for all the PMT aspirants who were going to appear in NEET 2019.
NEET 2019 will be conducted by NTA but not twice a year. It will be again held in offlinemode as before.

Health ministry pointed out some defects in the decision of HRD Ministry and asked to conduct NEET in offline mode as before till 2019.
Following issues were pointed out:
1. Rural students finding it difficult to give computer based test.
2. 16 shifts a year means question bank will get exhausted early and there will be difficulty in preparing new questions always.
3. Lack of computer exam centres for large number of students.

Now on 21st August, NTA has released the official routine for conduct of examinations in 2019, in which NEET is scheduled to be conducted only once and that too in offline pen and paper mode.

NEET 2019 form available: 1st November to 30th November.
NEET 2019 admit card: 15 April
NEET 2019 exam date: 5 May
NEET 2019 result: 5 June.

This is really not a good decision because many coachings and all students have updated their routine and class schedule keeping NTA NEET in mind. Now they will have to again make new strategies and new tensions for them as they were hopeful for selection with NEET being held twice a year.

Now coachings will design new routines and schedule creating confusions for aspirants.
Many students might have joined online test series for NTA NEET. Now they will have to again spend their money for offline tests.
This all happened because of irresponsiblity of our government in taking confirmed decisions at a time; which keeps students tensed and their future ruined.

All we can say is "The NEET drama begins".
