Number of seats

On 21st December, Notice no. 91/2018 was released; in which it was announced that admission will be given in AIIMS Delhi and 14 other AIIMS.
In these AIIMS:
1. AIIMS Delhi is the first AIIMS which was established in 1956 and has 107 seats (100 for indian students and 7 for foreign students).
2. Six were established in 2012 in Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar and Raipur; with 100 seats each in permanent campus.
3. Two new AIIMS were established in 2018 in Nagpur and Guntur; with 50 seats each in temporary campus. But now it has been increased to 100.
4. Six new AIIMS is now added in 2019 in Gorakhpur, Bhatinda, Raebareli, Kalyani, Deoghar and Bibinagar (Telangana); with 50 seats each in temporary campus.

So now there are 1200 seats (in total) for admission to MBBS course in AIIMS for 2019-20 academic year.

Effect of increase in number of seats on cutoffs.

In 2017, there were 7 AIIMS with 700 seats, so cutoff for General category students was approx AIR 1600.
In 2018, there were 9 AIIMS with 800 seats, so cutoff for General category students was approx AIR 2100.
Now, In 2019 there are 15 AIIMS (with addition of 6 new AIIMS) with1200 seats, so cutoff for General category students is expected to be approx AIR 3200.
So this is very positive news for AIIMS aspirants as cutoff rank is now expected to get lowered. So stay motivated and study hard to get selected in any AIIMS.
