MAMC- About College, Courses, Fees, Ranking and Admission.

About:
Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is a medical college in New Delhi, India, which is affiliated to University of Delhi and is run by the Delhi government. It is named after Indian freedom fighter and first education minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. It was established in 1956 at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near Delhi Gate.

Hospital:  There are four hospitals (Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, Guru Nanak Eye Centre, and Sushruta Trauma Centre) attached to MAMC, which together have a combined bed strength of 2800 beds and cater to millions of patients in Delhi alone and many more from the surrounding states in north India.

Courses:
The college is a tertiary care referral centre and has teaching programs for graduate and postgraduate degrees and residency and subspecialities/fellowships (referred to as superspecialities in India).
The medical college offers MBBS and MD and MS degrees and postgraduate residency courses for super-speciality / sub-specialty fellowship degrees of MCh and DM. Institutes offering degrees in nursing and pharmacy are also attached to the college.
It has 250 MBBS seats.

Annual tuition fees (for MBBS): Approximately Rs. 2500- 3000
Examination fees: Rs. 1000- 1500 per exam.
Mess fees: Rs. 2000 per month
Hostel fees: Rs. 1000- 1500 yearly

Ranking (for MBBS): 4th best medical college in India. It is the first choice of NEET Toppers.

Admission to MBBS Course:

Admissions are done on the basis of score obtained in NEET. After declaration of your NEET-UG results you will have apply for counselling of either State quota seats or All India quota seats or Both. From 2018 onwards, both these quota seats are filled through single counselling, conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).

These two quota seats for admissions have following seat distribution and cutoff scores (for General category students):
1. All India Quota: 38 seats and cutoff for general category students is more than 675/720.
2. Delhi State Quota: 208 seats and cutoff for general category students is more than 610/720.

So you can see that MAMC is the topmost choice of all the NEET-UG Examination Toppers. So work hard and get selected to MAMC Delhi.
