Top 20 Government Medical Colleges in India for MBBS - Expected NEET 2024 Cutoff - NIRF Ranking

NEET Examination is over, and its results are also declared. And soon the counselling process will also start. This year, the cutoffs of government medical colleges will be sky high. Infact, some students scoring perfect 720/720 won't get admission in AIIMS Delhi! This insane rise in merit will lead to very very high cutoffs, and this NEET 2024 will be historic for this particular reason!

Since college counselling process is going to start from 6th July 2024, you may be wondering about what colleges are best and what will be their cutoffs? Don't worry! West Bengal State NEET 2019 CUTOFF- State Quota Counselling- All Category | WBUHS NEET 2019


In West Bengal, the admission to MBBS course is through merit in NEET examination (conducted by NTA). The seats in government medical colleges are of two type- All India quota seats (15%) and State quota seats (85%).

After the declaration of NEET 2019 results, WBUHS (West Bengal University of Health Science) held the State Quota Counselling for 85% seats in government medical colleges of West Bengal.
The government seats in this counselling was available for only domicile candidates of West Bengal.

Bihar State NEET 2019 CUTOFF- Bihar State Quota Counselling- All Category- UGMAC NEET 2019


After the declaration of NEET 2019 results, UGMAC (BCECEB) held the Bihar State Quota Counselling for the government (85% seats) and private (100% seats) medical colleges in Bihar.

The government seats in this counselling was available for only domicile candidates of Bihar, and the private seats were available for all NEET qualified candidates (both domicile and non-domicile candidates).

AIIMS-UG 2019 MBBS Counselling Cut-off ranks of all AIIMS colleges


After the declaration of AIIMS-UG 2019 results, AIIMS Delhi has successfully completed the Online Counselling for MBBS seats of fifteen AIIMS (Delhi, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagpur, Guntur, Gorakhpur, Bhatinda, Raebareli, Kalyani, Deoghar and Bibinagar).

The counselling was held in two modes-
1. Online Mode- First, Second and Third Round (conducted only for students in merit list).

No AIIMS and JIPMER, only NEET to be conducted in 2020- know its advantages, disadvantages and effect on paper pattern


On 4th October, 2019, Honorable Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan announced that from 2020 onwards, the NEET examination will also be applicable to institutes of national importance like AIIMS and JIPMER and there will be common counselling for admission to MBBS in all colleges of India.
So there will be no any AIIMS-UG 2020 and JIPMER-UG 2020 examinations. Only NEET 2020 will be conducted for admission to MBBS in all colleges of India.

Advantages of this decision:

  1. Benifit to those students for whom online exam was a nightmare, they can now appear in NEET and if their score is good they can get into AIIMS or JIPMER.
  2. Seats will increase due to addition of AIIMS and JIPMER seats.
  3. Common syllabus to judge every student.
  4. Reduction of financial burden, which students earlier had, due to filling of multiple examination and counselling forms and their fees.

Disadvantages of this decision:

  1. Only one chance (in a year) to qualify which will develop mental pressure on the aspirants. 
  2. Many students who could not do well in NEET did well in AIIMS and JIPMER, so now students have to give their entire focus on NEET, which might be a trouble for them.
  3. Uncertainity over difficulty level.
  4. Only Offline Exam which is not at all a good thing if conducting examination for AIIMS/JIPMER.
  5. The autonomous feature of AIIMS and JIPMER is in danger.

Syllabus will remain the same

Atleast for 2020 examination, the syllabus shall not change, as there is very few time left for examination and government would not like to put students in more trouble.
So, study according to NEET Syllabus only, with maximum focus on NCERT.

Paper pattern may slightly change

There may be (not confirmed) introduction of Assertion- Reason questions, to match the level of AIIMS paper. But other than this, no any change is expected to take place.

Difficulty level of Paper shall increase.

AIIMS-UG examination was of higher difficulty level, which allowed best brains to take admission in AIIMS colleges. Moreover, cutoff for admission through NEET has also increased to a higher extent.
So to atleast maintain the dignity of AIIMS and lower the cutoff scores, difficulty level of paper shall be increased.

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2020 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The examination will be pen and paper based, with 180 questions, each having four options with one correct answer.
  • Total questions: 180.
  • Marks of each question: +4 marks.
  • Negative marking: -1 marks.
  • Total marks: 720
