NEET Examination is now scheduled to be conducted twice a year in the months of February and May.
Earlier NEET used to be conducted in offline mode as a pen and paper test in the month of May in first week. But the papers used to leak always and several protests began. To prevent this problem, present BJP government passed a budget in November 2017. This budget emphasised on the following points:
1. Making an independent exam conducting authority named NTA (National Testing Agency), to lower the burden of CBSE.
2. Conducting exams online computer based to prevent leaks.
3. Conducting exams twice a year to give students a second chance to correct their mistakes.

However in early 2018, NTA got its budget amount to start functioning. NTA recieves technical assistance from IIT Kanpur.
Ex- CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi is appointed director of NTA.
In month of June HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar officially announced the conduct of NEET twice a year by NTA.
NTA will consist of a team of educationists, paper setters and technology experts.
Paper will be computer based conducted in 4-5 days in 8 shifts per session, making a total of 16 shifts.
Papers of each student whether in same or different shifts will be different. However difficulty level will remain same.
Exam pattern will remain the same...
Paper will contain 180 questions having 4 marks each and a negative marking of -1 marks for wrong answers.
Score obtained out of 720 will be considered as raw score. And the score obtained by each student will be analysed using difficulty level measurement, psychometric methods, etc. to break ties and prepare a standard percentile score. This percentile score will be used to decide rank of a student.
A student can appear in both the sessions and his best percentile score will be considered for ranking and admission.

So you don't need to worry. If you are not comfortable with your marks in Feb NEET, apply for next exam- May NEET.
For practice and making students familiar with the exam situations government has decided to open 3000 practice centres in schools and colleges with required number of computers in rural areas by the end of August.
Online forms for February NEET exam will be released in the month of October and its raw score will be informed to students in first week of march.
For May NEET exam forms will come in 2nd week of March and combined result with standard score and ranking will be released in first week of June.
However HRD minister informed recently that exams will be conducted offline preloaded in computers before commencement of examination.
This is a good move as a student gets a 2nd chance to improve mistakes.
