KGMU- About College, Fees, Courses, Ranking and Admission.

About:
King George's Medical University, formerly Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University, is a medical school located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It came into being after the upgrade of King George's Medical College (established in 1911) into a university by an act passed by government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002.
The University has capacity for 1250 undergraduates students (including 280 dental students) and 450 postgraduate students.

Courses:
The MBBS course takes four and a half years to complete with one year internship and two years bond to work in rural areas and has an intake of 250 students each year.

Chancellor: Sri Ram Naik (Governor of Uttar Pradesh)

Vice Chancellor: Prof. Madan Lal Brahma Bhatt.

Ranking:
It was ranked as 5th best medical college in India by NIRF in 2018.

Fees (for MBBS):

Annual fees (including tuition fees, hostel fees, examination fees) is ₹65000.

Admissions( for MBBS ):
Admissions are done on the basis of score obtained in NEET.
It has two main quota seats for admissions:
1. All India Quota: 38 seats and cutoff for general category students is more than 630/720.
2. UP State Quota: 208 seats and cutoff for general category students is more than 605/720.
